Diving Journey 2024

My diving journey began a year ago, when I completed my Open Water Diver (OWD) course. This course taught me the basics of diving, such as how to use the equipment, how to plan and execute a dive, and how to deal with common problems and emergencies.
Together with my OWD course I enrolled in the Drysuit course, which enabled me to dive in colder waters and stay comfortable and warm. I also took the Advanced Open Water Diver (AOW) course, which introduced me to different types of diving, such as deep diving, navigation and night diving etc. I learned how to navigate underwater and how to improve my buoyancy and trim.
However, I realized that these courses were only the beginning of my diving education. I still needed to practice and refine my skills and gain more confidence and experience. I still struggled with my drysuit and finding the right buoyancy and movement in the water. I understood that diving is a continuous learning process and that I had to dive regularly and challenge myself to become a better diver. So my husband and I booked our first diving trip, which was to Malta over Christmas. Malta is a perfect destination for divers of all levels, as it offers a variety of dive sites, from wrecks and caves to reefs and walls. Most of the sites are accessible from the shore, which makes diving easy and convenient. We had a wonderful time exploring the underwater wonders of Malta and practicing our diving skills. The trip gave me a lot of training and awareness of diving and the importance of finding a routine. I felt more comfortable and relaxed in the water and more confident in handling different situations. I also enjoyed the beauty and diversity of the marine life and the history and culture of the island.
The year has just started and we have already booked another trip to Malta for more practice.
We are looking forward to discovering more of the underwater world and having more fun and adventure. Diving has become more than a hobby for me. It has become a passion and I think a bit of my lifestyle. I am grateful for the opportunity to dive and to share this amazing experience with my husband and other divers. I hope to continue my diving journey for many years to come and to inspire others to join me.
